The fifth season of Lanka Premier League is up and running in style, and in the seventh match of the season between Kandy Falcons and Colombo Strikers, Chamika Karunaratne has produced a stunning effort on the field to leave everyone watching mesmerized. However, tensions rose when it was eventually given not out as the third umpire reckoned that the ball has touched the ground.
It was the final delivery of the 8th over and Hasaranga bowled it full on middle and leg. Haris who was batting on 9 made room and played an inside-out lofted drive towards deep cover. Karunaratne in the deep showed great athleticism and ran to his right, dived full-length and grabbed a stunning one-handed catch.
However, when the umpires checked for the fairness of the catch, they ended with decision that the ball has touched the ground. Chamika Karunaratne though was not happy with the decision and indicated that his hand was under the ball, but the umpires decided otherwise and Haris got the lifeline.
