Riding on bowlers' excellent performance, India pushed Australia on the back foot in their first World Cup game in Chennai. After opting to bat, the Australian batting lineup crumbled against the rampant Indian attack, as Ravindra Jadeja and Kuldeep Yadav broke their back in the middle overs. However, ace pacer Mitchell Starc stood firm, playing a crucial cameo and powering his side to a respectable score.

While the left-arm speedster consolidated the Aussies' innings, his audacious six off Indian spearhead Jasprit Bumrah amazed fans and experts. The incident occurred in the 47th over when Bumrah was introduced to the attack to bowl the final over of his spell.

After bowling a dot ball, the experienced campaigner delivered a short ball, inviting Starc to play a pull shot. The southpaw accepted the invitation gleefully, nailing the pull and collecting six priceless runs for Australia in this process.

After opting to bat on Chennai's dry wicket, Australia recovered from a shaky start, as Steve Smith and David Warner stitched a vital stand of 69 runs for the second wicket. However, their departure triggered a collapse, engulfing the vital wickets of Labuschagne, Maxwell, Carey and Cameron Green.

As of writing Australia are 189 for nine in 48.2 overs, with Starc and Josh Hazlewood unbeaten on 19* and 1*, respectively.
