The Women’s Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2023 is in full swing and while Trinbago Knight Riders may not have emerged victorious in their clash against Guyana Amazon Warriors Women on Wednesday, it was Mignon du Preez's exceptional fielding that stole the spotlight.

Mignon du Preez's catch left everyone awestruck

In a thrilling moment during Match 4, du Preez displayed her remarkable athleticism with a breathtaking one-handed catch that left spectators and commentators alike in disbelief. The Warriors’ batter, Shabnim Ismail was at the receiving end of the magnificent catc

In the final over of the innings, Marie Kelly’s errant half-tracker was met with a powerful pull from Ismail. The ball soared towards long-on, seemingly destined to land safely and perhaps even add a few more runs to the Warriors' score.

But du Preez, demonstrating her impeccable fielding instincts, charged to her left and in a display of extraordinary reflexes, thrust out her left hand, snatching the ball from the air in what can only be described as a moment of pure magic.

The reaction from the commentators was immediate and unequivocal. Their stunned voices conveyed what every spectator on the ground and those watching on screens felt.

Notably, this wasn't the only feather in du Preez’s cap. Earlier in the match, she had impressed the crowd with another stellar catch at mid-wicket, sending the seasoned opener Suzie Bates back to the pavilion.

However, despite du Preez's heroics in the field, the Knight Riders fell short in their chase. Guyana Amazon Warriors Women set a target of 133, led by Sophie Devine's knock of 48.

While the Knight Riders struggled in their batting response, captain Deandra Dottin put up a spirited effort with a quick 35 off 19 balls. Ultimately, they were restricted to 111/9 as they lost the match by 21 runs.
