Anshul Kamboj, the bowling all-rounder from Haryana was finally rewarded with a much-deserved debut cap by Mumbai Indians in the 55th match of IPL 2024 against SRH. 

He bowled the second over of the game and was carted away for 14 runs, but cleaned up Travis Head in his very next over. It turned out to be a No-Ball though, but Anshul kept his spirits high and knocked over Mayank Agarwal in his third over to bag a memorable maiden IPL wicket.

It was the fourth delivery of the 8th over and Anshul Kamboj bowled it on a length, on off. Mayank Agarwal who was batting on five made room and tried a wild slog. He ended up missing it completely though, and the ball shattered the stumps much to the delight of the capacity home crowd assembled at the Wankhede.

Anshul replaced Gerald Coetzee in Mumbai Indians' playing XI and apart from couple of No-Ball blunders, bowled quite well with good control and seam movement. We can expect him to grow from strength to strength from hereon, with MI expected to play him in their remaining games of IPL 2024 after a bright start.
