Sri Lanka's cricket team skipper Chamari Athapaththu is all set to make history as she debuts at The Hundred, having been signed by Oval Invincibles for the 2024 season. Her signing marks a significant milestone, as she will be the first cricketer from her nation to feature in franchise cricket.

In a historic achievement, Chamari Athapaththu, the inspirational leader, recently led her team to a glorious victory at the 2024 Asia Cup, defeating the seven-time champion, India.

The 34-year-old batter has amassed 3326 runs from 139 T20Is at a strike rate of 110. Her personal best of 119*, a testament to her batting prowess, is a clear indication of her excellence on the field. She has also displayed her all-round skills, picking up 56 wickets from 81 innings.

The Oval Invincibles has been the most successful franchise in the history of Women's Hundred having won the first two seasons. Interestingly, they were the runners-up in the last edition as well where they lost to Southern Brave Women.
