Bizarre incidents have always been a part of a cricket match and sometimes they make no sense. A lot of times, teams produce brain-fade moments which give respite to the opposition and one such moment occurred in the ongoing BBL clash between Sydney Thunder and Melbourne Stars.
The two fiery teams went toe-to-toe with each other and during the Sydney Thunder batting, the Stars had a forgettable moment which included a clear cut run-out of Sam Billings. The event unfolded during the Thunder innings, as Billings tapped a short of a length delivery towards the short third man fielder and ran for a quick single.
The fielder there aimed at the non strikers end and produced a direct hit as Sam Billings was well short of his crease. However, to everyone's surprise, none of the Stars players appealed for a run-out as Billings survived.
When the replays were shown on the big screen, Glenn Maxwell couldn't believe it as he looked shell-shocked by the events that went by.
Thunder steal the win Vs Stars
Thunder posted 182/8 in their allotted 20 overs. David Warner, their skipper departed early, but Sam Billings, the man who got a respite played a blinder as he slammed 72 off 39 and helped his side reach a strong total.
In reply, the Stars were never really in the contest as they lost wickets at regular intervals. Despite a brilliant fifty from English batter, Ben Duckett, the Stars lost the match by 18 runs as the Thunder get the two crucial points in their kitty.
