The ongoing Big Bash League (BBL) has pitted two former national teammates against each other - Glenn Maxwell and David Warner. The Australian pair have played so much cricket with each other that they know each other's strengths and weaknesses.

In today's BBL contest, Sydney Thunder were up against the Melbourne Stars as Warner battled against Maxwell. The duo faced off against each other as Warner took care of the business against his former Aussie teammate as he struck a ridiculous switch-hit six to stun the crowd.

The marvellous shot unfolded in the first over of the match as Maxwell came into attack against the dangerous David Warner. Maxi bowled a tossed up ball on the stumps and the former Aussie opener was up for the challenge as he switched his stance and smacked a huge six towards the deep point region as Maxwell was shell-shocked. This was a statement six as things were about to get heated in the contest.

Warner's joy was short-lived

Warner's joy was short-lived as the Sydney Thunder skipper once again failed to produce a big innings and departed cheaply. He started the innings with a monumental six, but could only score 19 off 15 balls as the run-rate slowed down.

After the first over, he rather looked scratchy and played a reckless shot to throw away his wicket at the crucial juncture of the match.

Following his dismissal, Thunder lost a couple of more wickets as Usama Mir got two prized wickets to derail the momentum Thunder had. At the moment they are 115/4 inside 14 overs.
