In the WPL 2024, Smriti Mandhana scored 9 and 11 against the Mumbai Indians, proving that the Harmanpreet Kaur-led team is not one of her preferred opponents when it comes to scoring easily.
There was plenty of hope among RCB supporters around her, thinking that she would deliver on Friday (March 15) during their all-important Eliminator of the ongoing edition at Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi.
However, all she brought to her ardent fans were disappointment, as the southpaw fell after a paltry score of 7-ball 10. It was Nat Sciver-Brunt, who dismissed the RCB skipper in their previous meeting, who removed her yet again.
After opting to bat, Mandhana decided to accelerate from the get-go. England’s veteran all-rounder Sciver-Brunt was equally clever to tackle it, as she bowled a length delivery outside the off stump to tempt her. Mandhana tried to play it over extra cover, only to find a massive top edge.
Shabnim Ismail, who was placed at deep cover, took the catch with no mistake, leaving all RCB fans in silence at the stadium.
