[Watch] Lockie Ferguson Gives 'Evil Smile' As He Castles Uganda Batter With A Ripper

New Zealand were all over Uganda in the first hour of the ongoing T20 World Cup encounter between the two sides at Brian Lara Stadium in Tarouba. After Trent Boult and Tim Southee ran through the Ugandan top-order, Lockie Ferguson got rid of Kenneth Waiswa to bring the Men in Yellow down on the mat.

The incident occurred during the eighth over of Uganda's innings when they had just lost Ronak Patel to Mitchell Santner's wily spin bowling. After conceding a boundary on his first ball, Ferguson kept things tight in his next three balls before rattling Waiswa with a peach.

Coming from over the wicket, Ferguson bowled a booming in-swinger in the full length that jagged back into the batter. As Waiswa went for a drive, the ball sneaked through his bat-pad gap to uproot his off stump.

Thus, Uganda lost their fifth wicket with only 15 runs on the board. Barring Waiswa, none of their batters has breached the two-digit mark so far.

As of writing, Uganda were 21 for five at the halfway mark, with Riazat Ali Shah batting alongside Dinesh Nakrani. While Boult has scalped two, Southee, Santner and Ferguson have shared the remaining three wickets.
