In Match No. 31 of the ongoing ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024, South Africa and Nepal are playing against each other at the Arnos Vale Stadium in Kingstown.

Earlier in the match, Nepal won the toss in the game and invited South Africa to bat first on a tricky wicket. But South Africa failed to adapt according to playing conditions and the top order collapsed in another match.

South African top-order have not had a good tournament so far as they have failed to make runs and adapt accordingly to form good partnerships.

The Nepal bowlers have managed to hold their ground impressively in the match, as Dipendra Airee scalped the early wicket of Quinton de Kock

South African captain Aiden Markram struggled to build on his innings, as he departed after scoring just 15 runs off 22 balls. Despite being given a lifeline when Kushal Bhurtel dropped a straightforward catch at long-off, Markram failed to capitalise on it.

The dropped catch, which occurred in the 11th over of the South African innings, turned out to be less costly as Bhurtel soon redeemed himself.

Bhurtel, bowling at 84 kmph, delivered a leg break that was full and outside the off-stump. The ball held its line and spun away, with Markram staying at leg-side as he attempted an aggressive shot. However, he misjudged the ball, which resulted in an inside edge that dragged onto the stumps, thus getting dismissed.
