Sri Lankan skipper Wanindu Hasaranga weaved his magic with the ball in the ongoing T20 World Cup encounter against Bangladesh as he got the prized scalps of Towhid Hridoy and Litton Das in quick succession. After getting Hridoy with a googly, Hasaranga bowled a peach to trap Litton plumb in front of the stumps.

The incident occurred during the 15th over of Bangladesh's innings when they were in the driving seat, thanks to a scintillating stand between Hridoy and Litton.

Bowling the final over of his spell, Hasaranga started with a googly that turned into Litton to breach his defence and hit him on his back pad. As soon as the Lankan players appealed for a leg-before, the umpire raised his finger without any hesitation.

However, despite being struck in front of the stumps, Litton opted to go upstairs and challenge the decision.

But the TV umpire, upon finding three reds in the replay, asked his on-field colleague to stay with his original decision. Thus, Litton's poor judgement resulted in a loss of DRS for Bangladesh.

Meanwhile, chasing a modest 125-run target, the Tigers are in a precarious position, having lost six wickets. As of writing, they were on 111 for six in 17.1 overs, with Mahmudullah and Rishad Hossain holding the fort.
