Liton Das played one of the worst shots in Test cricket history on the first ball he faced when his team was struggling at 37-4 against Sri Lanka.

After the controversial ODI and T20 series against Sri Lanka, Liton Das, who was dropped for the last ODI, was selected for the first Test against Sri Lanka at Sylhet International Stadium.

Sri Lanka batted first and scored 280 runs, with Kamindu Mendis and captain Dhananjaya De Silva scoring centuries to save Sri Lanka from a collapse. In response, Bangladesh managed to score 188 runs, with Liton Das contributing 25 runs.

In the second innings, Sri Lanka scored heavily, with Kamindu Mendis and Dhananjaya De Silva scoring centuries once more, setting Bangladesh a target of 511 runs, which seemed nearly impossible to chase.

Bangladesh's batting in the fourth innings collapsed at the top, with Sri Lankan pacers Vishwa Fernando and Rajitha bowling exceptionally well. When Liton came to bat, the score was 37-4.

Liton Das, one of the senior players of Bangladesh, was expected to anchor the innings and save Bangladesh from a humiliating defeat. However, his approach was super risky. When Fernando came to bowl, Das stepped out early and slogged the first ball he faced, mistiming it, and Angelo Mathews took the catch.

Netizens trolled Liton Das for playing such a poor shot, with some suggesting he was attempting 'Baz-Ball 144p'. He appeared to not assess the situation and threw away his wicket in a disappointing manner.

Meanwhile, Bangladesh are on the verge of losing the first Test against Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka seem to be seeking revenge for their loss in the ODI series and the way Bangladesh players mocked them with 'timed-out' jokes.
