The fifth game of CPL 2024 between St Kitts & Nevis Patriots and St Lucia Kings is nearly halfway through at the Warner Stadium. The Patriots are in a comfortable situation in the game despite losing a wicket early on in the match. 

Nonetheless, Evin Lewis and Kyle Mayers did not let the wicket affect the Patriots. Rather, the duo went onto script history as they broke Chadwick Walton and Chris Gayle's record to stitch the highest-ever stand for any wicket.

At the time of writing this article, Lewis and Mayers have stitched an unbeaten 196-run stand for the 2nd wicket. Lewis was the more aggressive one, as he smashed nine sixes. 

Lewis Hits Alzarri Joseph To Bring Up His Fifty

Meanwhile, Lewis brought up his fifty in style after he smashed a massive six into the stands. The left-hand batter scored his half-century in the 10th over of the match. On the 2nd ball of the 10th over, Lewis hit Alzarri Joseph for a six down the ground. 


Kyle Mayers Follows Lewis' Footsteps

Not just Lewis, but Kyle Mayers too brought up his half-century in style after he hit Roston Chase for a six in the 14th over to complete his fifty. In fact, Mayors' six was bigger than Lewis as it hit the stadium roof. 

At the time of writing this article, both players are eyeing to hit their centuries, as after 18.5 overs, SKNP are 198/1. Lewis is batting on 98* (52), which featured seven fours and nine sixes, while Mayers is on 91* (59), which featured seven sixes and six fours. However, both players are stranded in their 90s as rain has interrupted the play at Warner Stadium.
