Uttar Pradesh captain Nitish Rana unleashed a counterattacking century against Ajinkya Rahane-led Mumbai team in their Elite Group B match of the ongoing Ranji Trophy 2024 season. The innings marked his seventh first-class ton, and he completed the milestone figure from just 105 balls at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium.

Rana, in his ultra-aggressive zone, also helped Uttar Pradesh blazed past Mumbai’s first innings total with relative ease on Day 2 of their four-day bout.

Leading Uttar Pradesh in their fourth match of the 2024 Ranji Trophy season, team captain Nitish Rana produced a near run-a-ball century against Mumbai at the latter’s home ground. Stepping into the crease at 136-4, the elegant left-handed batter blazed his side past Mumbai’s 198-run total with a century-plus partnership with number seven Akshdeep Nath.

By the time of completing his century, Rana had already crashed 11 boundaries and five scintillating sixes to take Uttar Pradesh to 283-5 by Tea on Day 2.
