Keshav Maharaj and Tabraiz Shamsi has been South Africa's go-to duo with the ball in white-ball cricket. However, after a good performance with the ball in the first half of a crucial game between Pakistan and South Africa in World Cup 2023, the duo was involved in a match-winning partnership of 11 runs that took Proteas over the line in one of the most famous World Cup wins in the history of the game.

South Africa had lost nine wickets on 260 with their target 11 runs away after South Africa crumbled from a very strong position, losing their last four wickets for just 25 runs. It seemed that Pakistan will run away with the game, a must-win encounter for them, but somehow, yes somehow Maharaj and Shamsi managed to keep their composure and took South Africa to a famous win.

Maharaj scored 7 runs while Shamsi scored 4 runs and in the end, Maharaj finished the game off with a boundary off Mohammad Nawaz, bringing out a passionate celebration from the South African spinner. He roared in delight and then punched his chest with passion for winning his game clearly showing in his broad eyes. Shamsi at the other end was also pretty pumped up and hugged Maharaj as the South African camp roared in delight. This win takes South Africa at the top of the table with five wins and just one loss in their six games and they are looking like a team to beat in this World Cup.
