[Watch] Kane Williamson's Flying Catch Sends Abdullah Shafique Packing

Riding on batters' excellence, New Zealand had a terrific time on the field in their eighth World Cup match against Pakistan in Bengaluru. After posting a mammoth 401-run total on the board, the BlackCaps got a fabulous start with the ball, as Tim Southee got rid of the in-form Abdullah Shafique in the second over of the innings.

Chasing a whopping 402-run target, Pakistan had a shaky start, with Southee dismissing Shafique on the final ball of his first over. After conceding just a single run in his first five deliveries, Southee bowled a full length ball to Shafique to conclude the over.

The batter considered it appropriate to go for a big shot, considering they were chasing a huge total. However, he miscued the shot, with the ball gobbled up in the air for a long time.

New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson made no mistake, as he covered 17 metres and dived forward to grab a sensational catch. Considering the form which Shafique was in, it was a priceless breakthrough for the Kiwis at that stage of the game.

After Shafique's departure, Babar Azam joined Fakhar Zaman in the middle. As of writing, Pakistan are 25 for one in 4.5 overs, with Fakhar and Babar batting on 17* and 3*, respectively.
