Jitesh Sharma took an excellent catch off Green (X.com)
When it comes to being among available wicket-keepers, Jitesh Sharma has kept himself as the frontrunner to get a place in India’s upcoming T20 World Cup squad. The Punjab Kings star, who has also become the vice-captain of the franchise, pulled off another miraculous job on Monday while donning the big gloves behind the stumps at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium.
After hitting a quickfire 20-ball 27 with the bat, Jitesh was on the field when Punjab came to defend 176 against RCB. During the fifth over of RCB’s innings, Kagiso Rabada bowled a length delivery outside the off stump, which Cameron Green, RCB’s latest big-money signing, tried to swing hard while batting on 3 off five balls.
The ball could only hit the toe end of Green’s bat before Jitesh lunged forward to take a superb low catch. The on-field umpire was not sure whether it was legal or not, but the third umpire on the big screen confirmed that was a clean catch, bringing joy to PBKS' fans as Rabada got two in two overs.

Meanwhile, RCB are still in a good position against Punjab, having reached 59/2 after 7.3 overs, with flamboyant Virat Kohli going strong on 39* off 25 balls. Rajat Patidar, who was having a torrid phase, is on 8* off 8 balls.
