After getting dropped on the very first delivery, Bangladesh's Jaker Ali made full use of the opportunity with a fighting half-century. The middle-order batter came in at a tough time and then played brilliantly against the Indian lineup in the Champions Trophy 2025, while celebrating his half-century in style.
Jaker Ali Celebrates Fifty In Style
Opting to bat first, the Bangladesh side were in deep trouble as they were five down for 35 with the majority of their top-class batters back in the hut. While Towhid Hridoy was still in the middle, trying to find his groove, he was then joined by Jaker Ali, who wanted to leave an impression.
At that time, Axar Patel had already bagged two wickets on successive deliveries, meaning he was on a hat-trick. Ali, who was on strike for the hat-trick delivery, tried to forward press but only to find his edge, which carried to his first slip. Luckily, he was dropped by Indian skipper Rohit Sharma to give him a life. The Indian camp were in disbelief, while Bangladesh breathed a sigh of relief.
Jaker then went out to play a fantastic knock of 68 runs from 114 deliveries after getting dismissed by Mohammed Shami. More importantly, he reached his half-century in 87 deliveries, and after getting to the milestone, Jaker celebrated in style with the iconic Pushpa celebration that has been a trend on social media all around.
Jaker's knock ended on 68 as he stuck four boundaries after facing 114 deliveries. On the other hand, Towhid Hridoy went on to bat and was still at the crease with 91* after facing 106 deliveries.
