KL Rahul had a near perfect day behind the stumps during the India Vs Bangladesh Champions Trophy match, however, he made one error and it costed India a bit too much. He made some bold DRS calls and also took a sharp catch to dismiss Mushfiqur Rahim, but he made one mistake and that was a big one.
KL Rahul gives lifeline to Towhid Hridoy
India had the game in the palm of their hands as Bangladesh had lost 5 wickets for a mere 35 runs and were all set to get bundled out under 100 runs. However, Towhid Hridoy and Jaker Ali played the innings of their life and steered their side out of a precarious situation.
Towhid got an early lifeline as KL Rahul, who had a brilliant match up until then missed an easy stumping chance and gave a lifeline to the Bangladesh batter. Ravindra Jadeja bowled it quicker and flatter on the off stump as Towhid missed his attempted flick and lost his balance as he was way out of the crease.
KL Rahul had all the time in the world to dislodge the bails, but he fumbled and allowed the batter to come back in. This frustrated Virat Kohli as well, as he hurled abuse at his teammate for an easy stumping chance.
Towhid haunts India with maiden ODI ton
Towhid Hridoy made most of the missed opportunity by India as he piled on runs and battled cramps to notch up his maiden ODI century. He started slowly and resurrected the innings alongside Jaker Ali.
Towards the end of his knock, the Bangladesh batter struggled for runs as he suffered from cramps, but he eventually reached his century and assured that Bangladesh reach a respectable total.
