Swashbuckling Australian batter Jake Fraser-McGurk had a painful start to his innings during Delhi Capitals' ongoing IPL 2024 clash against Rajasthan Royals at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. The young opener went down on the ground as he was hit on the box by ace RR pacer Trent Boult.

The incident occurred during the first over of DC's innings after RR skipper Sanju Samson asked them to bat on a placid surface.

Bowling the first over for the visitors, Boult instantly came around the wicket for Fraser-McGurk as he took his stance at the striker's end.

After keeping things tight for the first three balls, Boult delivered a good length ball that came back into the explosive opener with the angle. As Fraser-McGurk attempted for a wild slog, he missed it completely and got struck in the box.

Following the incident, the dynamic right-hander screamed, kneeling down on the ground with agonising pain. The Capitals' physio entered the playing area and helped him recover after quite a while.

However, Fraser-Mcgurk didn't take a long time to start from a scratch as he backed away and smoked the very next delivery for a boundary.

As of writing, the Capitals have got a positive start, placed at 22 for no loss in 2.1 overs.
