In the 56th match of the IPL 2024, Rajasthan Royals (RR) skipper Sanju Samson won the toss and opted to bowl first against the Delhi Capitals (DC) at Arun Jaitley stadium in Delhi.

Talking about the changes, RR brings in Shubham Dubey and debutant Donovan Ferreira in place of Dhruv Jurel and Shimron Hetmyer, while DC brings back Ishant Sharma and Gulbadin Naib to feature in his maiden IPL game. Prithvi Shaw and Lizaad Williams have been left out.

Rishabh Pant (Delhi Capitals Captain): "I think that was the idea. Both teams will get same batting pitch. This year it's completely different and it's going bonkers. Some injury and health issue are there. These are part and parcels of the game and we need to do well in all departments. We have pretty much the same side just that Ishant is back in and Gulbadin comes in as well. Plus, we can use the extra batter as an impact player."  

Sanju Samson (Rajasthan Royals Captain): "We would like to bowl first. It looks like a good pitch to chase on, but let's see how it goes. We're comfortable with either option, but we need to carefully consider our team's strengths and weaknesses. Ultimately, we've decided that we would prefer to bowl first. "
