In the third T20I between India and Sri Lanka at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium on Tuesday (July 30), India's star opener Yashasvi Jaiswal fell early, scoring just 10 off 9 balls. 

After Sri Lanka won the toss and chose to bowl first, the decision quickly proved advantageous as they claimed Jaiswal's wicket in the second over.

The dismissal occurred when Sri Lankan spinner Maheesh Theekshana delivered a carrom ball on the stumps. Jaiswal attempted a sweep but missed, and the ball struck his front pad. The Sri Lankans appealed loudly, and the umpire raised his finger, signaling Jaiswal’s departure.

India opted for a review, but the replay showed no bat involved, and ball tracking confirmed three reds, upholding the umpire's original decision. This early breakthrough by Theekshana gave Sri Lanka a crucial advantage.

The Indian team faced a challenging situation, needing to build a substantial partnership to set a competitive target for the hosts.

At the time of Jaiswal's dismissal, India was struggling are at 31 for 4 in  overs, with Shubman Gill and Shivam Dube at the crease.
