Ravindra Jadeja and Ravi Ashwin have been a dream pair for India in Test cricket. The duo has taken truckloads of wickets bowling in tandem especially on Indian wickets and both of them are good batters too. However, a rare miscommunication happened between the two on the second day of the first Test match that left Ashwin high and dry as he was run out by Tom Hartley.

The incident happened in the 91st over when India were 358-6 with Jadeja batting on 61 and Ashwin on 1. Joe Root was the bowler and he delivered a shortish delivery, on off. Ashwin pushed it to extra cover and took off. He kept watching the ball and did not watch his partner as Jadeja decided to not risk a run after taking couple of steps forward.

Ashwin, however, was almost at the other end, by the time he realised that he was in trouble. Hartley, on his part was quick to collect the ball and threw it to the keeper as Ben Foakes whipped the bails off.
