KL Rahul has missed out on a well-deserved century against England as he holed out in the deep on 86 to hand Tom Hartley his second wicket of the Test match. It was a delivery to hit out of the ground, and KL tried to do just that, but unfortunately for him things did not go his way. He played a brilliant knock though that has put India in a commanding position in the opening Test match at Hyderabad.

Indian batters have batted very aggressively against English spinners, especially against the duo of Tom Hartley and Rehan Ahmed. Both of them have been inconsistent with their lines and lengths and have paid the price.

KL Rahul tried to do just that in the 65th over. It was a short delivery on middle and KL Rahul tried to pump it over deep mid-wicket. He could not get the desired power behind his shot though and ended up hitting it straight to Rehan Ahmed at deep mid-wicket. He took an easy catch and KL Rahul walked back frustrated, as he looked good for much more.

India are in a strong position though and they would like to make the lead as big as possible from hereon with England bowlers not showing the consistency despite the wicket helping them.
