The Lanka Premier League (LPL) 2023, currently underway, has been marred by an unusual and unexpected issue - snake appearances. Ever since the tournament commenced last month, the presence of snakes has intermittently disrupted the cricket matches.

In a startling turn of events, the second match between Galle Titans and Dambulla Aura was briefly halted due to a snake slithering onto the field.

The intrusion of a snake onto a cricket field is an occurrence that is, by all means, uncommon. Yet, remarkably, this event has now transpired not once but thrice during the ongoing Lanka Premier League matches.

This phenomenon made its presence felt twice after the initial interruption in the second match. The most recent encounter saw the snake sharing the playing area with former Sri Lankan and B-Love Kandy pacer, Isuru Udana.

The snake saga persisted, with another incident during the 15th match of the tournament between B-Love Kandy and the Jaffna Kings, held at the same venue. On this occasion, the snake was situated beyond the boundary line, but the match continued despite the reptile's nearby presence.

Television footage captured the curious incident as the snake entangled itself with the electric wires, all while a cameraman and another individual observed from a secure distance. The match proceeded, unfazed by the unexpected spectator beyond the boundary.

On Monday, August 14th, Dambulla Aura secured victory against B-Love Kandy in Match No. 19 of the Lanka Premier League 2023, winning by a margin of 20 runs.
