All the teams are playing their final bilateral series' before the World Cup 2023. New Zealand are touring Bangladesh right before the big event. This series is important for both teams to finalise their combinations as they will be heading into a long tournament. Today, the teams are playing the second ODI of the series as the first one ended in a no result due to rain.

Bangladesh have bowled out the Kiwis for 254 and are ready to chase. In the 46th over of the first innings, Hasan Mahmud ran out Ish Sodhi, and he was given out as now Mankad is considered as the run-out only. But Sodhi was called back to continue his innings.

It is said that "Cricket is a gentleman's game" and the incident that happened today during the game of Bangladesh and New Zealand, proved this statement to be true.

Here interaction between Ish Sodhi & Hasan Mahmud:

Although Mankad is in the rules now, still do not fancy it as without a ball being bowled the player is dismissed. There have been many incidents of Mankad and now the teams do not care when the match is running out of their hands.

Today, Hasan Mahmud ran Ish Sodhi out, who was playing a cameo. Sodhi was on 17 when this happened, Mahmud ran him out and the screen showed 'OUT' which made Sodhi start walking towards the dressing room. Liton Das, the Bangladesh captain, went to the umpire and asked him to call Sodhi back. The leg-spinner was called back and he hugged Hasan Mahmud right away, for giving him a chance to continue.

Sodhi eventually got out but added 18 more runs after the Mankad, which helped the Kiwis reach a total of 254.
