In a brilliant fielding effort, Mohamed Amaan and Yudhajit Guha grabbed a juggling catch to remove Haroon Arshad in the U19 Asia Cup contest between India and Pakistan. It was Amaan who initially made the call but as the ball popped out of his hands, Guha, stationed right adjacent to him, latched on to the ball to complete a fine catch, leading to Arshad’s dismissal.

The U19 Asia Cup hosted a high-voltage clash between arch rivals India and Pakistan on November 30 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. Pakistan batted first and Shahzaib Khan slammed 159 off 147 balls to guide his team to a competitive total. However, Khan didn’t get the necessary support from the other end. The middle order went back to single digit scores with the idea to promote Haroon Arshad also backfiring.

Amaan-Guha's teamwork sends back Haroon Arshad

Ayush Mhatre, who already had a wicket to his name, bowled a fuller delivery as Haroon went for a slog sweep. However, Haroon Arshad found a leading edge, and Indian skipper Mohamed Amaan sprinted to take a catch.

In a dramatic turn of events, Amaan called for the catch and positioned himself underneath, but the ball popped out of his hands. However, Yudhajit Guha, who also ran in from deep square leg, caught the ball as soon as it popped out of Amaan’s grip. The catch was clean, and Haroon Arshad had to make his way back.

With the presence of mind shown by Guha, India managed to bring Pakistan 2 down at 170 runs on the board. Eventually, Pakistan finished with 281/7 in 50 overs, setting up a challenging chase for India.
