Imam-ul-Haq took an absolute beauty of a catch on Tuesday (October 10) in Pakistan's World Cup 2023 fixture against Sri Lanka at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad. The 27-year-old completed a wonderous take to dismiss Kusal Mendis, who departed after scoring a magnificent 77-ball 122.

It was the fifth ball of the 29th over by Hasan, which Kusal Mendis tried to loft it over deep mid-wicket for a six. The momentum was there with the Sri Lankan, who smacked two sixes on the bounce before that attempt. However, this time around, he did pick the slower delivery by Hasan, and thus, the ball did not go out of the boundary ropes.

Imam-ul-Haq was there at the deep mid-wicket, and he closely watched the ball coming from the sky before completing an excellent catch. It is important to mention that he missed an easy catch before that, so the pressure was on. Yet, the Pakistani opener kept his come to complete the dangerous man’s stay.

Opting to bat, Sri Lanka, at the time of writing, have posted 232/4 in 32 overs. Sadeera Samarawickrama and Dhananjaya de Silva are in the middle, on 46* and 2* respectively.
