[Watch] Najmul Hossain Shanto Stuns Sam Curran With Flying ‘Magical’ Catch

Najmul Hossain Shanto used his wings on Tuesday (October 10) during Bangladesh’s World Cup 2023 clash against England at HPCA Stadium, Dharamsala. The 25-year-old took a screamer to dismiss Sam Curran, who looked to give England a strong finish until that outrageous catch.

It all happened when Mahedi Hasan bowled a tossed-up delivery to Curran, who was batting on 11* off 15 deliveries. The English all-rounder hit a flat six over the bowler’s head, but the timing was not there.

However, Shanto, placed at long-off, had so much job to do. He leaped to his left and did a sensational dive to complete a spectacular catch that stunned the world of cricket.

Bangladesh, as well as Mahedi, were quick to congratulate Shanto, whose valiant effort on the field ended Curran's stay.

Meanwhile, England reached 364/9 in 50 overs, with Dawid Malan top-scoring with 107-ball 140. Mahedi Hasan took the most wickets for Bangladesh, having claimed 4/71, while Shoriful Islam took 3/65. Shakib Al Hasan and Taskin Ahmed were the other wicket-takers for the Tigers.
