Rohit Sharma in Ranchi on Friday (X.com)
Rohit Sharma's reactions on the field are always priceless, as fans rarely see more entertaining candid moments than him at present. Whether angry or funny, the Indian captain often attracts attention by signaling animatedly, if not verbally, to his teammates.
And the same thing happened on Friday (February 23) when India took the field in Ranchi during Day 1 of the fourth Test against England.
It occurred just before the tea break when Ravindra Jadeja bowled to Ben Foakes during the 60th over of the innings, and hit the Englishman’s pad. The ball, to the naked eye, was going down the leg side, and India only had one DRS to play with for the remainder of the innings.
Yet, wicket-keeper Dhruv Jurel and bowler Jadeja told Rohit to go for it, and the Indian skipper was eventually convinced just before the time was about to be gone.
No wonder Rohit was tensed after watching the replay on the big screen. Then, all of a sudden, the cameraman focused on him while he was watching on the big screen. As the shot was longer, Rohit could not control himself, and told publicly, ‘Idhar kya dikha raha he? Udhar dikha na (why are you focusing on me? Focus on the big screen).

Eventually, the replay showed the ball was missing the leg stump, and hence, Rohit and India lost their review due to Jadeja and Jurel.
At the break, England, after 61 overs, have posted 198/5 after choosing to bat first, courtesy of Joe Root and Ben Foakes' valiant 86-run unbeaten stand.
