England are staring down the barrel once again as the Indian bowlers are all over the visitors in the 4th Test in Ranchi.

Opting to bat first on a tricky turning surface, England were off to a flying start, with Zak Crawley and Ben Duckett taking the attack to the Indian bowlers. India needed to break the momentum and it was the debutant, Akash Deep, who came to the rescue for his side, picking up the wickets of Duckett, Ollie Pope and Crawley in quick successions.

Jadeja outfoxes Stokes

However, the turning point of the first session came in when Ravindra Jadeja outfoxed the England skipper, Ben Stokes at the stroke of lunch time. The Indian all-rounder delivered a length ball on the stumps, which kept low and struck Stokes on the front-pad. The England captain didn't even bothered to review it and walked back to the pavilion in disbelief, as his side lost 5 wickets in the opening session.

The first session clearly belonged to Akash Deep, who sprung a surprise on his debut and looked threatening right from his first over. The Bengal pacer had figures of 3 for 24 inside 7 overs.

At the stroke of lunch, England are reeling at 112-5, with Joe Root batting at 16 off 41 balls.
