Pakistan pacer, Afaq Afridi scripted history and carved a name for himself in the ongoing Pakistan T20 Champions Cup tournament. The emerging fast bowler bagged a hat-trick on debut against the Dolphins and made a mockery of their batters.
Even prior to his debut, there were lots of chatter going around the promising Afridi, and the youngster didn't disappoint as he bowled with sheer pace and picked up a hat trick to stun the Dolphin batters.
Afridi bags a hat trick on debut
He started with the wicket of Faheem Ashraf, as the captain of the Dolphins was dismissed for a paltry 3 off 6 deliveries. Abbas Afridi became his second victim as he got trapped on the front leg. The hat trick moment arrived when Afridi picked up the wicket of Shayan Sheikh and completed a remarkable feat on T20 debut.
Apart from the stellar three wickets on the trot, Afridi finished the match with figures of 5 for 18 inside 4 overs as the Dolphins got bundled out for 71. The target was chased down with relative ease as the Lions chased it down within 9 overs, despite losing three wickets.
Lions on top of the table, Dolphins at the bottom
Both the sides are at the opposite ends of the points table. While the Lions are flying high and are placed at the top of the table with 5 wins in 8 matches, the Dolphins are struggling and are yet to win a single game in the 7 matches they have played.
The Dolphins are already out of the competition, but would have loved to spoil the Lions' party, but that didn't happen on Friday.
