The Hobart Hurricanes will be taking on the Perth Scorchers in the seventh match of the BBL 2024-25. This match will be played at the Bellerive Oval in Hobart, Australia on 21st December at 10:30 AM IST.
Hobart Hurricanes have so far played one game in the tournament. They were bundled out for just 74 runs in the game against the Melbourne Renegades and it was chased down by them in nine overs with six wickets in hand. As a result of this heavy defeat, the Hurricanes have taken a severe hit in the net run rate and are currently lingering at the bottom of the points table.
On the other hand, the Perth Scorchers began their campaign on a hight with a performance worthy of their tag of being the most successful team in the tournament. They performed well with both the bat and the ball in their first outing and won the game comfortably against the Melbourne Stars. As a result of their brilliant display in the tournament's opening game, the Scorchers are currently at the top of the points table and they will be looking to maintain the position with another successful show in this game.
As the two teams get ready to take on each other in the field, we take a look at three best captain and vice-captain choices for the fantasy contests of the match.
3. Nathan Ellis
The Australian pacer is known for his ability to bowl the difficult overs for his team with great effectiveness. However, Nathan Ellis in BBL 14 has served the team with both his batting and bowling. In the only match of the Strikers, Ellis scored 35 runs and also picked up 2 wickets. So, he has the all-round form with him and thus can pick up points to make a huge factor in the fantasy contests of the game.
2. Jhye Richardson
The Australian pacer looked in a great rhythm in his last outing. Jhye Richardson has the effectivity as a bowler in both the powerplays and the death overs. In the last match he has picked up three wickets for 19 runs and is thus coming into this game with red hot form. Richardson striking abilities make him a prime choice as the captain or vice-captain for the fantasy contests of this match.
1. Cooper Connolly
The Australian all-rounder, Cooper Connolly played brilliantly in the last match. The youngster held one end under pressure and guided his team towards a win. Besides his stable and steady approach with the bat, Connolly also picked up a wicket. Thus he is coming into this game with decent all-round form and the fact that he will bat in the top order, makes him a great option as a point multiplier.
