Rishabh Pant, who made the much-anticipated return to a professional cricket field on Saturday after more than 450 days, hit his first boundary of the IPL 2024 against Rahul Chahar in Match 2 of the ongoing edition in Chandigarh.
However, to be honest, if Harshal Patel had not missed a sitter near the boundary ropes, Pant would have returned to the pavilion without hitting a single four in his return.
The incident happened during the 12th over of Delhi’s innings, when Pant, coming to the crease and batting on 4* off six balls, went for a slog against Rahul Chahar. Placed at deep mid-wicket, Harshal was in the perfect position to catch that but was impacted by the sunlight. As a result, the ball dropped just beside the fast bowler before crossing the boundary ropes.

Unfortunately, Pant fell to Harshal eventually, scoring a quickfire 13-ball 18 before holing out to Jonny Bairstow at point.
At the time of writing this, Delhi are bating on 135/6 after 16.3 overs, with Axar Patel and Sumit Kumar at the crease, on 19* and 0* respectively.
