Mumbai Indians Women (MIW) locked horns with Delhi Capitals Women (DCW) in the 13th match of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2025 at a packed M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. DCW won the toss and opted to bowl first, looking to restrict MIW’s strong batting lineup.

MI Skipper Harmanpreet Kaur played a brief yet impactful knock after a cautious start. The MIW captain took her time to settle in but later accelerated, scoring 22 runs off 16 balls, including two boundaries and a massive six.

Harmanpreet Kaur’s highlight moment came in the ninth over when she launched Titas Sadhu’s delivery into the stands. The ball was pitched full, right in the slot for the right-hander. Harmanpreet cleared her front leg and hammered it over wide long-on for her first six of the innings, sending the crowd into a frenzy.

However, her innings was cut short in the 11th over when she fell victim to Jess Jonassen. The left-arm spinner bowled an arm ball at 80.2 kmph, trapping Kaur lbw. The MI skipper took a review after consulting Nat Sciver-Brunt, but ball-tracking showed three reds, confirming her dismissal.

Nevertheless, Mumbai Indians Women posted a modest total of 115/8 in 19 overs after being sent to bat first. After Harmanpreet Kaur’s 22 off 16 and Ben Dunk’s explosive 56 off 29, MIW struggled to gain momentum.

Jess Jonassen starred with the ball for Delhi Capitals Women, taking 3/25 in 4 overs. With a below-par target on the board, DCW will be confident in their chase, while MIW will rely on early wickets to turn the game in their favour.
