Sri Lanka's Nilakshi de Silva pulled off an incredible fielding effort to stun India captain Harmanpreet Kaur on Sunday in the high-octane final of the Women's Asia Cup 2024 in Dambulla.

The Indian could only muster 11 off 11 balls before de Silva's flying catch, and in the process, Sachini Nisansala took the massive wicket in the summit clash.

Harmanpreet tried to play across the line, only to find a leading edge towards the cover region. Placed there, Nilakhshi dived forward, and timed it in perfection to pluck a superb catch.

At the time of writing this, India are 127/3 after 16 overs, with Smriti Mandhana and Jemimah Rodrigues in the middle, batting on 60* and 27* respectively.

Notably, Mandhana was dropped on 10 earlier, while Shafali Verma failed to make much impact in the all-important final.

India reached the final of the competition without losing any match. The Women in Blue will look to keep the unbeaten run of form intact by lifting the title.
