In the ongoing Test match against England Women, Indian skipper Harmanpreet Kaur had a disappointing end to her innings, as she was run out in a bizarre fashion. Batting first, India Women had a shaky start to their innings, with the English pace battery removing Shafali Verma and Smriti Mandhana cheaply.

However, the debutant duo of Jemimah Rodrigues and Shubha Satheesh steadied the ship for the hosts, stitching a magnificent 115-run stand for the third wicket. After Satheesh departed, skipper Harmanpreet joined hands with Rodrigues, consolidating the Indian innings.

The explosive right-handed batter played a glorious knock, amassing 49 runs off 81 deliveries with the help of six gorgeous boundaries. However, her stay in the middle was concluded in the most heartbreaking fashion, as she was run out in the 63rd over.

On the first delivery of the 63rd over, Harmanpreet and Yastika Bhatia tried to run for a single, but chose otherwise, seeing the ball being picked up by the deep square leg fielder in a really quick time. However, her bat got stuck in the pitch while sliding and the ball hit the stumps at the striker's end, finding her short of the crease.

Soon after Kaur's departure, Bhatia got out for 66 off 88 deliveries. As of writing, India Women are 333 for six in 71 overs, with Deepti Sharma and Sneh Rana unbeaten on 15* and 6*, respectively.
