Indian women's cricket team captain Harmanpreet Kaur's run ended in the ongoing India versus West Indies 3rd ODI as she fell after scoring 33 runs off 23 balls. The game underway at Vadodara's Reliance Stadium saw Shemaine Campbelle remove the formidable batter.

Harmanpreet slammed three boundaries and one maximum during her outing, forming a promising 66 off 52 balls partnership with Harleen Deol. The Windies women, who had been making some concerning mistakes during the game, did not miss out on dismissing the captain of the opposition team.

Richa Ghosh-Harmanpreet's Mix-Up

In the 42nd over, Campbell bowled a back of a length outside the off-stump delivery. She threw her hands and got a thick outside edge towards the short third man. Fletcher dived towards her left and threw the ball to the keeper, who ran up the stumps. Mistakenly, Ghosh called early for the single and set off from her end.

Harmanpreet was unfortunately outside the crease as she watched the ball. Hence, due to miscommunication and lack of on-feet thinking, she was forced to return to the pavilion.

West Indies Women Need 315 Runs to Win

India Women posted a formidable total of 314/9 in their 50 overs, with a brilliant late surge adding 140 runs in the final 15 overs. Smriti Mandhana top-scored with 91, narrowly missing a century for the sixth time, while Harleen Deol struggled to settle.

Harmanpreet Kaur (34), Richa Ghosh (26), and Jemimah Rodrigues (31) contributed quick runs towards the end. Zaida James was the standout bowler for the West Indies, taking career-best figures of 5/45. India’s strong finish sets a challenging target of 315 for the visitors in the run chase.
