There is no doubt that Haris Rauf has become quite a popular figure in recent years in the Big Bash League (BBL). The Pakistani international, who can bowl at extreme pace, has been representing Melbourne Stars for some time, and due to his humble behaviour with the fans, he gained more popularity.

And to keep himself as a fan favourite, what Rauf did on Saturday during the Stars’ BBL match against Sydney Thunder at Lavington Sports Oval in Albury has never happened before.

Coming to bat at No. 11, Rauf did not even wear helmet, gloves, or pads initially. The reason behind his decision was there was only one ball left in the innings and Rauf was at the non-strikers’ end.

However, the on-field umpires did not allow him to do that, and thus, Rauf had to take gloves and helmet to stay there for safety. Still, he did not take his pads, leaving a commentator to remark ‘this is circus’ on air.

Rauf did not even wear both his gloves, whereas Daniel Sams, who took two wickets and inflicted a run-out before bowling his final ball, left completely stunned in the middle.
