After an unfortunate injury to Hardik Pandya, the former Indian captain Virat Kohli gave fans a moment of joy as he completed Pandya's over with his "right-arm quick" bowling. Interestingly, it was the first time since Kohli took the bowling duties in six years in ODI cricket.

This episode unfolded in the 9th over of the Bangladesh innings, when the Indian vice-captain got his ankle tangled while trying to field the ball after Litton Das drove it down the ground towards the bowler.

After a whole lot of drama, Pandya was taken off the field and the camera was directly panned onto Kohli, who had a bright smile on his face while warming his bowling muscles. The legendary batter bowled three deliveries in the over, lending two runs in it.

Initial in his career, Kohli used to bowl handy overs, helping his side regular junctures. However, as his stature as a batter grew, Kohli decided to concentrate less on his medium pace bowling.

In 49 innings, the former Indian captain has snapped 4 wickets at a staggering economy of 6.23, which included the prized wickets of Alastair Cook, Craig Kieswetter, Quinton de Kock and Brendon McCullum.

Meanwhile, he has snapped four wickets each in T20I and IPL cricket.

At the time of writing, Bangladesh are riding high on confidence with the scoreboard reading 98/1 in 17 overs, with Litton Das at 41* and Najmul Shanto at 4*. Earlier, Tanzid Hasan smacked a well-polished fifty before getting LBW against Kuldeep Yadav.
