Groundstaff drying out the ground after rain interrupts the CSK-GT final

The IPL 2023 final between CSK and GT is turning out to be one long affair with game on the verge of moving to the third day because of rain playing spoilsport. We could not get a toss on 28th of May, the original day assigned for the final while on the reserve day, after an exciting first innings, the rain has interrupted again in the first over of the second innings.

The game was stopped due to rain but the interesting part is the technique used by groundstaff to dry out the pitch and ground. The groundstaff were seen using sponge pieces which is quite surprising given the technologies that we see in cricket nowadays but that is the beauty of the game and India especially, as the term 'Jugaad' never goes out of fashion in India.

GT have posted a mammoth total of 214 on the board on the back of a scintillating knock of 96 by Sai Sudharsan. CSK now need to bat out of their skins whenever the play resumes in this IPL final 2023.
