The grand finale of the Indian Premier League (IPL) was in full swing on the reserve day when rain again interrupted when the match was just in the first over of the second innings. Players and officials rushed back to the pavilion whereas the ground staff brought in the covers to protect the square.
All this happened after Gujarat Titans (GT) posted a mammoth total of 214 on the board as Sai Sudarshan thumped a powerful 96.
Now, the Duckworth/Lewis Stern method which is used during the rain interrupted matches has been calculated and equation is revealed in case of a five-over encounter. As per the calculations, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) needs to be at 43 after the conclusion of five overs to seal the game.
However, as per the reports emerging the rain can go on till 12 AM without any of the overs being lost. This scenario is only applicable if game doesn't begin even one and half hour after the scheduled time of 12 midnight.
