Veteran Karnataka batter Abhinav Manohar sustained his dream run in the ongoing Maharaja Trophy, as he smashed a blistering knock in Shivamogga Lions' most recent encounter against Hubli Tigers on Saturday night. 

Coming as an impact player at number four, Manohar, who is in sublime form, bludgeoned two fours and nine massive sixes for his breathtaking 27-ball 70 that ensured a commanding win for his side. 

Although he hit nine massive maximums, his audacious pull shot grabbed the maximum limelight, as it had the shades of Rohit Sharma. 

The incident occurred during the tenth over of the Lions' innings when Abhinav Manohar had just started to take on the Tigers' bowling unit. After experienced spinner KC Cariappa bowled a tight over, the Tigers went back to Kumar LR in pursuit of a breakthrough. 

However, the right-arm pacer was thwacked all around the park by Manohar, who hit him for a boundary and two gigantic sixes, collecting 19 runs off his over. 

He further made Cariappa and Aneeshwar Gautam his victims, completing a breezy fifty in this process. However, after hitting Gautam for three consecutive sixes, Manohar was trapped LBW by the slow left-arm spinner in the 12th over.

Riding on sensational knocks from Manohar and skipper Nihal Ullal, Shivamogga Lions opened their account in the Maharaja Trophy points table with a six-wicket win over Hubli Tigers. Up next, they will face Mangaluru Dragons tonight at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
