The Hobart Hurricanes women are taking on the Sydney Thunder women in the fourth match of the WBBL 2024. The match is being played at the Bellerive Oval in Hobart, Australia. 

The Thunder won the toss and opted to field first in the game. Lizelle Lee and Danny Watt-Hodge walked out to open the innings for the Hobart Hurricanes. The Hurricanes would have hoped for a solid start from their dynamic opening duo. However, things did not turn out as per their plan, as Georgia Adams pulled off a stunning fielding effort in the second over of the match.

Georgia Adams took the catch of the tournament so far

On the fifth delivery of the over, Samantha Bates bowled a full delivery around the off-stump line. Lizelle Lee was looking to play that over the infield on the off-side. However, she got it off the bottom of the bat, and the ball skied up in the air. Georgia Adams, stationed at extra cover, tracked back and then timed her dive to perfection to take an excellent catch. 

Adams's effort reminded fans of Glenn Maxwell's in the 2023 ODI World Cup final. Maxwell took a similar catch in an important game to dismiss Rohit Sharma, completely changing the game's complexion. 

The Hurricanes lost Danny Wyatt-Hodge in the ninth over. She had a good partnership with Nicola Carey, stabilising the team's progress. However, Thunder soon got rid of the second opener and made a comeback into the match.
