On Day 1 of the second Test between Australia and India at Adelaide Oval, it was the brilliant bowling of Mitchell Starc that stole all the limelight. Earlier, Rohit Sharma won the toss and opted to bat first. India struggled against some fiery pace by Starc. The left-arm pacer delivered a career-best 6/48 to decimate the top and middle order of India.

Yashasvi Jaiswal got a duck, while KL Rahul and Shubman Gill showed some promise. However, Starc's second spell saw the visitors collapse to just 180. Nitish Kumar Reddy's late resistance helped India salvage some pride. Australia's chase began with caution in difficult pink-ball conditions.
