In the ongoing first ODI between India and England at the VCA stadium in Nagpur, the visitors, batting first, tumbled for just 248 runs. In reply, India got off to the worst possible start as they lost two early wickets.

Notably, the Nagpur surface is acting as a double-paced wicket, and the batters are facing it difficult to put runs on the board. However, Shreyas Iyer is dominating the track and has put on a show in Nagpur. The PBKS captain lit up the stadium when he whacked Jofra Archer for back-to-back sixes.

Iyer came to bat when India were 19/2. Meanwhile, Archer tried to test Iyer with a short ball as Shreyas has unfortunately made a name for getting out on short-pitched deliveries. On the 5th and 6th ball of the 7th over, Iyer belted Archer for back-to-back sixes.

On the 5th ball, he pulled one for a beautiful shot that landed in the second or third row of the stadium. On the last ball, Archer bowled another short-pitched delivery and he played an upper-cut shot much like Virender Sehwag that too went for a maximum.

Shreyas Iyer Scripts A Brilliant Fifty

Talking about Shreyas Iyer, he is making his bat talk as the right-arm seamer smashed a blistering fifty. At the time of writing this article, Iyer is batting on 59 (34), while India are back in the hunt and are 113/2.

It is worth noting that Iyer completed his 50 in just 30 balls, which is the second-fastest for an Indian batter while cashing a target in ODIs. Only Kedar Jadhav is ahead of him in this list.
