[Watch] David Willey Gets Badly Injured During SA-ENG Game At Wankhede

The big ticket encounter between South Africa and England at the iconic Wankhede Stadium is turning out to be a difficult encounter in terms of injuries as David Willey has injured himself after Topley hurt his fingers earlier in the game. The incident happened on the last ball of the 36th over when Willey in his follow-through did not land well and was seen limping in pain and eventually got down as physio came charging in to treat another English pacer in hot and humid conditions in Mumbai.

David Willey is playing his first game of World Cup 2023 and bowled decently before getting injured with his 8 overs going for 43 runs. It includes one maiden as well and the ball in which he got injured, went for a boundary as Klaasen got a thick outside edge to the fullish delivery that Willey delivered it outside off.

As soon as willey bowled the ball, Willey looked in serious pain and went off the field with physio limping and crawling out of the ground. The injury seem to be on his left calf but he had a big smile on his face while walking off the field and is expected to be fit for the rest of the game.
