Shamar Joeph has been a revolution in the West Indian side, ever-since he made his debut, a couple of months ago. He was the chief tormentor in the Australia series, and was once again at his imperial best in the Test matches against South Africa.

Joseph, too hot to handle for the Proteas batter

The fiery pacer continued the good work in the first T20I against the Proteas. He scalped 2 wickets for 40 runs, but most importantly, he bowled with pace and troubled the opposition batter.

One such incident occurred when he got the prized wicket of Reeza Hendricks with sheer pace and determination. The West Indian bowler was too hot to handle for Hendricks as he got scared by the extra zip on his short of a length delivery. Even though the ball was going down the leg side, the sheer pace troubled the batter, who gets a leading-edge on his flick and the ball was safely taken at third-man.

West Indies made mockery of the target

Talking about the match, South Africa posted 174/7. Despite losing wickets early in the innings, it was Tristan Stubbs, who stabalized the innings and scored a valuable 76 off 42 balls to steer his side to a decent total.

In reply, West Indies made a mockery of the target and chased it down inside 18 overs.

The assault was led by Nicholas Pooran, who smashed a quick-fire 65 off 26 balls and effortlessly took the Windies to a victory.
