Hardik's Emotional Message On Dhawan's Retirement: 'Only The Best For You, Shikhi Paa'

Indian stalwart, Shikhar Dhawan announced his retirement from international cricket on Saturday. The shocking decision was announced through his social media handle.

Hardik gets emotional on Dhawan's retirement

Dhawan, a veteran Indian cricketer has been one of the best players of the last decade for the Indian side. He was a key member of the side which won the Champions Trophy in 2013, and his absence was felt in the 2019 World Cup semi-finals, which India lost against the Kiwis.

Throughout his illustrious career, Dhawan has played with many players, and has shared a great rapport. One such cricketer is Hardik Pandya, who penned a special message for Dhawan on his retirement.

The duo played several T20Is and ODI games together, and created countless memories.


"Only the best for you, Shikhi paa, congratulations on a wonderful career," Hardik posted.

Dhawan made his international debut in 2010, but failed to cement his place in the side. It wasn't until his Test debut in 2013, when people started to recognise his talent. He slammed a 85-ball century on his Test debut against Australia and announced his arrival.

Moreover, he was India's key player in the Champions Trophy winning run in 2013, where he finished as the highest run-getter. He was also impressive in the 2015 World Cup, and his hallmark innings remained the classy century, which he scored against South Africa at the iconic MCG.

Dhawan last featured for India in 2022, and since then has not been picked in the Indian side.
