Barbados Royals registered a two-wicket win over St Kitts & Nevis Patriots in the recently concluded match at Warner Park in St Kitts. It was a nail-biting thriller as the game went to the last over. 

Batting first, the Patriots put 153 runs on the board. In reply, the Royals chased the target in 19.5 overs. Dunith Wellalage was the top-scorer with 39 (32). However, Jason Holder played a crucial innings of 17 (12), which featured one four and a six.

Talking about six, Holder hammered one shot into the stands that went like a bullet and could have injured someone had they not moved out of the way. 

On the 5th ball of the 18th over, when the Royals required 24 off 14 balls, Holder eased off the pressure by smashing one maximum down the ground. 

Holder failed to finish the game for his side as he played a lose shot on the first ball of the 20th over and threw his wicket away putting the Royals in a dangerous situation. Nonetheless, Young took to onus on his shoulders and scored a boundary and finished the things off in style with a six. 

St Kitts & Nevis Patriots Extends Winless Run

The defeat resulted in fourth straight defeat for the St Kitts & Nevis Patriots in this season. They started off positively but the lost the track recently. The fans were emotional and in a state of shock seeing their team lose at home. 

Even skipper Andre Fletcher, during the post-match presentation shed light on the recent defeats and assured the fans that they would hope for five wins in remaining five matches.
